| Shai Aloni was born on July 27th, 1957 in Haifa on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. Shai (Hebrew name for a gift) from a very early age showed exceptional talent. He began to draw as a child, receiving encouragement from his older brother, a very talented artist himself. At the age of 14 Shai enrolled into an Art school in his home town. Later on he acquired his education in fine arts at the artists' village in Israel - "Ein Hod". Shai had several successful private exhibitions showing work that included oil paintings on canvas and charcoal drawings. In 1979 Shai moved to Europe, travelled throughout Central America and came to the United States in 1981. Throughout this period he kept pursuing his art work being inspired by people, cultures and sacred places. Since arriving at the U.S. Shai has been living in the city of Los Angeles, California where he pursued an independent business, all the while continuing to build on his well developed artistic skills and to grow as an exceptionally talented artist. |
